This represents the reportable activities of the Police Department over the last week.  This blotter is updated every Thursday.  

On 10/18/08 at approximately 2015 hours, Officer conducted a traffic stop and after subsequent investigation, discovered the driver of the vehicle, 22 year old Alfonso Valenzuela was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage.  Valenzuela was requested to perform a series of Field Sobriety Tests to determine if his driving ability was impaired.  Valenzuela was unable to successfully complete the Field Sobriety Tests and was subsequently placed under arrest for Driving Under the Influence.

On 10/21/08 at approximately 0033 hours, Officers responded to the 500 block of west Chestnut regarding a report of a Home Invasion.  Upon arrival, Officer contacted the victim who stated the suspect entered the residence by forcing the front door open.  The suspect threatened the victim with a knife and then stole items from the residence.  The victim was not injured during this incident.  Officers obtained a description of the suspect and searched the entire area for the suspect.

On 10/21/08 at approximately 1823 hours, Officers responded to a residence in the 100 block of Bryant Court regarding a theft.  Upon arrival, Officer contacted the victim who stated sometime between the hours of 1445 and 1530, an unknown suspect(s) entered the backyard of his residence and stole four bins of recyclables, including the blue recycle trash can.  The victim estimated his losses to be worth approximately $75.

On 10/21/08 at approximately 2211 hours, Officers contacted victim who stated he was assaulted by an individual after walking his girlfriend home.  The victim stated the suspect is a family acquaintance of his girlfriend.  The Victim sustained a minor injury to his mouth area including small scratches on his face.  The suspect was later located at a residence in the City of Exeter and a statement was obtained. 

On 10/22/08, Kevin Lansdale, 48, was arrested for a felony arrest warrant charging burglary and fraudulently obtaining prescription medication.  He was booked into Tulare County Main Jail.

On 10/22/08 Officers were dispatched to a packing shed in the 400 block of First Street regarding juveniles behind the locked gates.  Upon arrival four male juveniles were contacted and observed setting off a fire extinguisher.  A report has been submitted to probation charging the juveniles with trespassing and theft.

On 10/23/08, Adam Prideaux, 19, was arrested on an active warrant charging resisting arrest.  He was transported to the department and released with a court date.

On 10/23/08 at approx 1935 hours, Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Filbert and Crane. During the stop the driver, Luis Arteaga, age 26, was found to be driving without a license. Arteaga was cited and released and the vehicle was impounded for 30 days.

On 10/23/08 at approx 0035 hours, Officers contacted Trina Clark, age 38, for outstanding warrants. Clark was detained, cited, and released after signing her agreement to appear.

On 10/24/08, A vandalism was report in the 400 block of east Pine Street.  The victim reported when he entered his vehicle and closed the door his passenger side window shattered.  A crime report was take and no suspects have been identified.

On 10/24/08 at approx 1930 hours, Officers responded to a non-injury traffic accident on Rocky Hill. Investigation found the driver fof a semi-tractor trailer had improperly backed his rig onto Rocky Hill. During the backing movement the semi backed into an out of town visitor’s car, which was legally parked, during the High School Football game. Accident was report taken and both parties contacted.

On 10/26/08 at approx 1735 hours, Officers contacted Sharon Brown, age 27, for outstanding warrants. Brown was arrested, processed, and later released on her signed agreement to appear.

On 11-03-2008 at approximately 1430 hours an officer with the Exeter Police Department who is also a member of the Tulare Reduced Auto Theft Team received information regarding a stolen ATV in the area of Rocky Hill/Third.  Through an investigation the vehicle was located and returned to the owner.  A 14 year old male juvenile suspect was located and arrested.  He was booked into juvenile hall and charges with motor vehicle theft.

On 11/4/08 at approximately 1315 hours, Officers responded to the 300 block of Second Street regarding vandalism.  Officers located graffiti on the business building, this case is currently under investigation by the Exeter Police Department.

On 11/4/08 at approximately 1500 hours, Officers were contacted by Victim who stated she was a victim of internet fraud.  The victim provided documentation of the purchase made online.  This case is currently under investigation by the Exeter Police Department.

On 11/6/08 at approximately 1650 hours, Officers responded to the area of Maple and Filbert for a report of a fight with weapons in progress.  Officers located the suspect, 18 year old Manuel Villegas who was in possession of a knife.  Officers detained and placed Villegas under arrest and he was later transported to the Tulare County Main Jail where he was booked without further incident.

On 11/6/08 Officers were contacted by Victim who stated property was stolen from within his vehicles which were parked in the driveway of his residence. 

On 8/8/08 Officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Willow and E Street. During the stop the driver, Russell Havner, age 41, was found to be driving on a suspended license. Havner was taken into custody and processed at the scene.  Vehicle was towed by Sonny’s Towing.

On 8/8/08 Officer responded to a report of possible child abuse and domestic violence. Upon arrival officer made contact with the victims, names withheld, who reported the suspect had become physically violent with both victims then left the area. Suspect was later located and statement was taken. Case has been forwarded to the Tulare County District for review and charges.

On 11/10/08 while conducting a patrol check of the Boys and Girls Club on Pine Street Officer found that unknown persons had broken a glass door on west side of the building. Estimated loss $250.

On 11/11/08 Officer conducted a traffic stop in the 500 block of S. Kaweah. The driver Michael Rubio, age 36, was found to have an active warrant and was taken into custody. Vehicle was towed and Rubio was later released on his signed agreement to appear.

On 11/11/08 Officer responded to a traffic accident in the 300 block of W. Visalia Road. Officer collected detail at the scene of the non-injury accident and a report was taken.

On 11/12/2008, a burglary was reported in the 700 block of Westwood.  The perpetrator(s) entered the residence through the side gate and forced their way into the residence by breaking down two different doors.  Money and a DVD player were taken during the burglary.  Case is currently under investigation.

On 11/12/08, an attempt vehicle burglary was reported in the 400 block of Waldo.  The victim of the vehicle came out to see why the alarm had sounded.  The victim discovered the driver side door was left open and the radio had been tampered with but not taken.  

On 11/13/08, a residential burglary was reported in the 1400 block of Mary Ct.  The burglary occurred during the hours of 10:00 am to 3:30 p.m. while the victim was not home.  The perpetrator(s) entered the yard and stole equipment out of the garage. Case is currently under investigation.
